Jurassic World is a MUST SEE!!!!

This is a GOOD one. Okay so I was one of the ones that watched all of the Jurassic Park movies back in the day so when I first got wind of Jurassic World I was ecstatic the dinosaurs were ones again being brought to the big screen. I must say I was NOT disappointed in any way.

Of course being 2015 they "upped the ante" on the technology seen in the movie, including the culmination of dino breeding.

*SPOILER ALERT* (Please remember this is simplified cinemas so if you don't want it to be ruined for you...avoid continuing on now)

Okay so two brothers, one older about high school sophomore/junior age and the other younger probably middle school age, leave their parents to go visit their aunt who is like a site manager on the island where the park is located. Upon saying goodbye the mother of the two boys makes the comment "Don't get eaten" and laughs. This was definitely a sign for me that something BIG  was going to happen.

Moving right along, the boys make it to the island which is jam packed with visitors and looks uh-mazing.   They finally locate their aunt whom they haven't seen in years but she is too busy to spend much time with them (as can only be expected by a woman entrusted to run a Jurassic World island). She leaves them under the supposedly watchful eye to one of her assistants who ends up losing them, okay so maybe the boys did it on purpose but still. Meanwhile, their is a dinosaur whisperer working with the Raptors showing people that he can command them. (This was a foreboding moment for me as well) So they take him to go see their newest creation which is a cross between a bunch of different dinosaurs (the mix of which is "classified").

This dinosaur camouflaged itself and was able to outsmart the heat sensors which made the men think it escaped and the claw marks it made on the walls to the enclosure didn't help. So they went INSIDE the enclosure to get a closer look and that's when the Raptor whisperer catches on that the dinosaur creation actually didn't escape and was still inside the enclosure with them. They all 3 try to run out one didn't make it and was eaten 2 made it out but so did the creation. The 2 men hide but the creation being so smart found one of the 2 and ate him but the other guy, the Raptor whisperer, outsmarts the creation and drenches himself in fluid from the truck he's hiding under so the creation couldn't smell that he was hiding there.

.That's when it all begins, the nephews are caught in the jungle/forest and escape by the skin of their teeth. The owner of the park comes and crashes a helicopter which he was only learning to pilot and shouldn't have been flying in the first place. This crash breaks open the pterodactyl enclosure and they all escape and attack the park goers. The boys and the aunt reconnect with each other and the Raptor whisperer.

Most people evacuate except for those 4 and they end up witnessing the creation and the T-Rex which the aunt released purposefully to attack and take down the creation. Also the Raptors for a moment in time turned on the whisperer and was on the side of the creation until they had a moment of connection bonding time with the whisperer and got back on his side. The creation gets in a fight with the T-Rex in which it seemed the T-Rex would lose until it got to close to the water dinosaur who ended up eating the creation. But back in the lab the bad guys who wanted to use the "trained" Raptors as military weapons is in the process of stealing all of the creations in process and we are left with is there going to be another one? If so what's going to happen? Regardless I was thrilled at how this one played out and would definitely be first in line if there were to be another one made.

The Boy Next Door...

If you're like me than you love Jennifer Lopez in a good drama.

It was released January 23, 2015 in the US. It's about a teenager name Noah who moves in next door to a family with a newly separated high-school teacher. She has a teenage son who becomes friends with the new neighbor but the new neighbor has other plans in mind when he starts flirting with the mom. He becomes obsessed with her and she plays right into his hands even going as far as having an affair with him. It's very easy to explain this one as the story line is very simple. The mom realizes Noah is obsessed with her and realizes the extent when he tapes up and scatters pictures of their intimacies around her classroom. She realizes he taped the entire thing and breaks into his house to try and find the footage.

When she finds it she tries to delete it and almost gets caught. He kills one of her friends that tries to warn her of just how dangerous he is and he ends up trying to kill her and her family but in the end he fails and she kills him in a burning barn that he set on fire. The End.

Lol. It was less than expected at best and received only 4.5/10 on IMDb, 10% on Rotten Tomatoes, and 30% on Metacritic. I literally was able to predict..pretty much everything that was going to happen before it happened. They tried to make it all sensual and hot but let's be honest here we've all seen J. Lo with little coverage..and in my opinion they could've chosen a hotter guy but hey whatever. Any who if you want to check it out for yourself, if you haven't already, it came out on DVD April 28, 2015 so you can go purchase your copy. (I'd suggest just renting it on Red Box, or through your TV provider).

Project Almanac

Released in January of 2015, Project Almanac is a Sci-Fi movie in which time travel is involved. With that being said...I was too excited to see this movie. Anyone that knows me knows I'm somewhat of a nerd at heart and understand/believe that few things are impossible.

In this American-made film a group of friends embark on a journey when one of them finds a mysterious device in the basement of his family home and the entire thing is filmed as if being captured on camera by one of the characters. It all begins when the main character, David Raskin (who could easily be considered somewhat of a teenage genius), is in the attic looking for something to use for a project to apply for a scholarship to MIT (since his widowed mother wouldn't be able to afford it and in his acceptance letter they only awarded $5,000 or so towards tuition). His sister comes in the attic recording him and together they stumble upon their father's old camcorder (who passed away on David's 7th birthday).

They realize it still works 10 years later and press play to watch the last thing recorded which happened to be the 7th birthday party. While watching, David sees something in the reflection of a full length mirror and upon investigation realizes it's his present-day self. He freaks out and shows his friends. They attempt to recreate the frame and notice in the video David's reflection was flipping a light switch to the basement. When they go downstairs they hear a loud click while the light switch is being activated/deactivated. They locate the source of the noise to be a secret hatch in the ground directly connected to the light switch in which it unlocks when the lights are turned off and locks back when the lights are on.

They open the hatch and find this mysterious looking, inoperable device and blueprints for it. Looking through the blueprints they conclude it's a time machine and being teenagers with remarkable minds together they get it to work after multiple failed attempts and making a huge mess in the basement. Fast forward to the end they learn changing the past, even by the smallest of actions has a ripple effect of changes to the present day and should not be done.

For whatever reason it's only gotten 2 stars and a 35% rating out of 79 votes on Rotten Tomatoes and only 47% reported liking it. I guess not everyone appreciates science without too much drama. Regardless, I enjoyed it immensely and would recommend it to anyone that has even the slightest interest in this sort of thing. However, if you're not I would definitely say just wait for it to come on T.V. but I would say that regarding any genre of film so that's not saying any bad about this one. Either way check it out and see what ya think.

50 Shades Unseen

By now you or anyone else interested in the erotic novel 50 Shades of Grey by E.L. James may have seen the movie version. The book was okay and received a lot of good reviews especially if you have read all three books and learned what the story really is all about. For most people, it is not just the sex scenes that are important and exciting in the book. The story, the making of a dominant and submissive, family and motherhood are all interesting lessons to be learned from it.

What is one lesson that others may have missed in this novel? Well, one is there are things that "relationship takes work." There are a lot of people who believe that changing someone is the only way to go about a relationship. This is not true in most cases. If you are in a relationship only to change someone, then you or your partner or both of you will end up getting hurt.

In the novel Fifty Shades of Grey, it shows how Anastasia Steele made efforts in order to make the relationship work. She was not out to change Christian Grey from who and what he was. She went in a give and take relationship. Be willing to be a submissive, but get hearts and flowers as well.

So if you have not seen the movie or not read the book, don't get hung up on the vividly described sex scenes (from the book) or the show of behind and frontal nudity (from the movie). Remember that the story is also about two persons who were willing to make sacrifices to make a relationship work.

The Loft...

I love a good mystery, so when I saw the trailer for The Loft I admit I got excited.

I mean seriously who doesn't like a good whodunnit especially when it involves James Marsden? ;-)

Well from the little knowledge I had before watching it I was surprised at what it was really about.

**SPOILER ALERT** Please stop reading here if you don't want it to be spoiled for you.

Alright so I was not expecting it to be about a group of guy friends that were cheating on their wives and get a loft to have a place to do so secretly. And being the cheater despise-r that I am that kind of put a bad taste in my mouth (yes I know it's just a movie but it's an all too real situation that I've witnessed ruin people's lives) however I was able to look past that when the wives seemed to be catching on to what was happening. I was waiting for the killer to be revealed as being one of the wives but was  NOT expecting for 4 of the friends to be setting up the 5th because he slept with 1 of their wives, another's sister, and set up another one with a prostitute! So it definitely threw me for a loop in that aspect.

Okay so here's my recap...some guys decide they want to cheat on their wives and get a bright idea to share a loft so they can take their mistresses, etc. there and have less of a chance of getting caught. So one girl gets caught up and starts feeling something for one of the cheaters and he "breaks up with her"so she spasses out and takes some pills. Another of the friends who didn't actually cheat on his wife but wanted to was recorded all of the adultery unbeknownst to anyone else. He liked this particular girl but of course she didn't like him well when she got broken up with he comes to her side at the loft where the other cheater left her and comforts her with a glass of wine which he drugs. She passes out he carries her to the bed and gives her an injection that was supposed to kill her without leaving a trace only it didn't work but he didn't know that then. So he staged it as if she overdosed on pills and wine and killed herself and forged a note to the other cheater. When the other 3 friends find her they blamed the main cheater and decide to make it more dramatic and drugged that friend and handcuffed him with the dead girl on the bed one of the crazy ones slit her wrist (this is what killed her). They call the cops who questions everyone and almost pinned murder on the main cheater until another friend pieces things together and the non-cheater that attempted to kill the girl actually kills himself at the end....and yeah that's pretty much the jist of it.

Another TV show review but it's a good one!!

If you have Hulu or Netflix then you are probably like the rest of us and like finding a TV series that you can watch marathon style and if this describes you then you'll want to hear about this TV show.

It's called The Last Man on Earth and it's a comedy that airs on Fox. It's set in a post cataclysmic world where Phil Miller is the only survivor. It received 8.1 out of 10 stars on IMDb and 7.8 out of 10 stars on TV.com. It can sometimes be a little crude humor and is definitely NOT a show for the family to watch together unless your kids are grown ups too. I won't go too much into the plot of the show but I will say it had me laughing from the beginning of episode 1.

Anyway if you're interested check out the show's page on the FOX website: http://www.fox.com/the-last-man-on-earth

Once Upon a Time...

Okay, so I know this ones not really a "cinema" but I love it nonetheless. It airs Sundays on ABC (check your local listing for time). http://abc.go.com/shows/once-upon-a-time

In this television series fairy tales and reality coincide. It's amazing to see each character be introduced in the "real world" and to see how they are connected to the next character and the "fairy tale realm". Some of the main characters include Snow White and Prince Charming, The Evil Queen from Snow White, Captain Hook, Belle (from Beauty and the Beast), The Beast who is also Rumpelstiltskin, and the Crocodile. These characters were introduced first as well as Snow White and Prince Charming's daughter (pictured above). Well the Evil Queen cast a spell over everyone and it traps them in a town called Storybrooke, Maine...and that's only the beginning. I watch it faithfully and will continue to do so for as long as it is on TV.
